Samsung LCD 650 vs 550?

I"m in the market for a new lcd tv. It'll be my first btw, and I'm looking for a 46" tv. I like the samsung brand and after doing some research I've come down to the 650 series and the 550 series. the price difference is a good $400-$500, so is it worth it to spend the extra for the 650. I do play video games and I watch a lot of football, would getting the 120hz be better or is it not much of a difference.

At that size, I would want the 120Hz. If you were going 32" and smaller, it might be less of an issue. But once you're breaking into the 40's and definitely once you're onto the 50's and beyond you want the better motion handling. It might not make a big enough difference for YOU, as I can't say about your viewing abilities or such, but certainly in theory its something you should go after.

Samsung is the top dog in LCD. Others might say Sony, but Samsung will give you equal or better picture quality at better prices. The Sony will not be a bad TV in anyway, but it will likely cost more and give you less features overall.
